I finally had a victory, one which is hard one and comes in a sea of pain and despair of ever feeling better. I raised my left foot one degree in biofeedback. It's a first and I'm proud of myself. When something like this happens, I celebrate it as much as possible. I know how hard I worked for it and I know that it isn't always even possible for people with RSDS/CRPS. So I decided to share the celebration with everyone.

What does this mean? It means that if I keep practicing, I may be able to get the blood to flow better in my bad leg. This may or may not help with pain, but it does show that I am slowly learning to get control of my sympathetic nervous system. That's a key part of RSDS/CRPS because it's the fight or flight part of your nervous system. Anyway, I just wanted to share the excitement!

That is awesome... it is quite an accomplishment but baby steps is the key, and hopefully you will be able to get some strength back on that leg. Good luck!

Thanks, I am still excited. I am really thinking about saving up to get a home unit for biofeedback with the temperature. I found one with audio, but I haven't figured out whether it will work for a blind person. I'd love to know how successful I am or am not every time I relax. I know the goal is not to need it, but I am still not sure how to get to that point. I'm doing something that my body doesn't understand anymore and I have to gently show it the way.

Yeah, it's really great. Now the trick is to get it to do that more often.

Yeah, exactly. Mastering the mindbody is always tricky, and I'm not there yet, but one baby step is better than none, I think.

Fantastic news! :)
Nickie, congrats are in order! :) Seriously, it's absolutely fantastic hearing news like this! :) I hope and pray that it continues to improve for you. and remember that if you ever need anything, feel free to get ahold of me. I know I keep saying that, but I'd be a terrible friend if I didn't repeat it, and besides, one can never hear such things enough. :) Mark
