A little over a month ago, I was interviewed by Deborah Kendrick, a writer whom I really look up to. She contributes to
with at least one or two articles every issue. Those who aren't sure, AccessWorld is a journal/magazine put out by
the American Foundation for the Blind
the articles are centered around technology and visual impairment.

The article, on interviews with college students who are blind, was published in this month's issue. I'm very pleased with the interview:
Staying On Course: Interviews with Students Who Are Blind

This explains a lot about the various uses for technology in college.

I enjoied the article. Thanks for sharing. (Was also pleased to see the positive review of Mobile Speak Smartphone/the Moto Q in that issue!)

You've probably mentioned it about a zillion times before, but for some reason, I didn't realize you switched to Window Eyes. What made you switch? (If you've written about the reasons before, feel free to point me to them.)

I hadn't really explained or mentioned anything about switching, because when I started, i didn't know much about what I was doing. I figured it out quickly, though, but then school got busy. I basically got tired of JAWS crashing, and liked the better mouse control I get with Window-Eyes.

Hey Nikki!

Congradulations on the 1 on the pain scale yesterday, (I think it was yesterday...my days all run together in the summer.) That must be a relief. You're always in my prayers.

Any who...unrelated completely...I was wondering if you could Email me or return a comment on the bennifits you've noticed with Window Eyes as opposed to Jaws. I'm thinking about switching, and I love all things GW Micro at the moment since I just got a Voice Sense and the BrailleSync to replace my evil BrailleNote. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks!

Stay strong.

Thanks for posting the article! It's good to taste a bit of fame every once in awhile, I think. You got presented as the smart college student with the savvy social life, which is pretty accurate, and quite flattering, I think.
I also had to giggle because the pic of you at Brewberry's showcases Julio eagerly eyeing your mocha, or whatever caffeinated concoction it was. So typical and so funny.
