Take that RSD

While limping back from the coffee shop, I remembered something I read about a year ago. It's a book called "The Doctor Will Not See You Now" and it was a very good book. There was a lot of stuff to think about in it. Her life experiences were very different from mine in some aspects, yet in many others I could relate to them.

In that book, she related a story which I've heard before in other places. A man is being chased by a tiger and he ends up going off a ledge. There is a mountain lion underneath. Anyway, as he's falling, he sees a strawberry, picks it and it's the best strawberry he's ever had. The lesson is to find the "little things" when you feel like you're cornered. I was feeling cornered by my pain. It was absolutely awful. So this morning, I made a conscious effort to find the little things. I enjoyed my carmel mocha as fully as possible, came back hear and put some lavender and chamomile in my bath and just spent 15 minutes consciously relaxing. The pain seems better. I don't know if it will stay that way, or if I will be able to keep finding the little things, but for once, it worked.
