I appologize for not writing in here last night. We've been in internet hell. I don't know what they did, but it finally works again. They turned JAWS off, and I thought I was powered down. Guess not. Anyway, we're back up and I will try to supply some content. The presentation I went to on DAISY was excellent. I have to decide what else to go to, but I'm loving the experience so far.
Definitely at least a 7 or 8 on the pain scale. Hotels just don't understand the concept of not wanting to eat much, so I don't know what I'll do for dinner. Exhibit halls are murder for RSD. It's been bad all day, but I didn't really want anyone to know at the time. At this point, there is absolutely nothing anyone can do for the pain. I have one more thing to go to today, then I don't have to go anywhere until 8 tomorrow morning. Today will have several great topics to blog about.
I went to a session on why DAISY has been so widely adopted, a session on Windows Vista's accessibility features and a thing on RFBD's Audio books. I wrongly thought they were talking about something new, but it was more about the complete adoption of DAISY and how they are going to do away with Cassettes in 2007.
The exhibit hall was fun, and I will probably go back there. I'm learning a lot in the sessions though, and those are less painful. I think this will really help me in the long run. I'm seeing what people are doing, what they're talking about and getting inspired to maybe try to do something myself. What that will be, I can't necessarily say, but I want to do something.
Making connections helps a lot too, and I've gotten to know a few people a little bit. I'm even more excited to see and actually get to meet friends. That is really awesome!
More to come soon, but since I have something In about an hour, I need to get going.
