A tip for people with RSD

When going through security, always, always make it clear that you have a chronic pain condition, and ask for accommodations. Otherwise you could have the experience I had yesterday. Pat downs are bad enough without someone patting an RSD leg very very firmly. And then sliding the hand down the pants. Sandpaper on a sunburn people, sandpaper on a sunburn. I try not to cry about pain in public, but I did yesterday.

I don't care if it comes across melodramatically, next time, I'm being way more assertive.

once is plenty - enough
Oh no, Nickie!
I had that happen to me also. Crying out in pain when prodded? Yep, I did it. Did I raise my voice in protest when smacked? Yep, sure did. Did the idiot scanners know that I had (metal) electrodes hooked up to a (metal) TENS unit?
See above:
pain - check
voice raised - check

Re: once is plenty - enough
I didn't have a tens unit, thankfully. Did they yank the electrodes while scanning you? Because that would have put me not just on the ceiling, but through it and to my destination without an airplane ride. I'm sorry you've also experienced this. Maybe this is another area that needs to
