See, I can too make friends...

Friday night we're having a Charity ball. I'm going to wear my prom dress because, a, it's pretty and b, it's expensive and needs to be worn more than once. I told the friend that I'm going to hang out with that I'd have to wear tennis shoes with it.
This has actually been bugging me pretty bad. I know that I should be happy with how I look, but I want to look pretty. I want to know that people aren't looking at me funny or thinking that I don't know the first thing about fashion. Okay, so I don't know much, but I do know this, you don't wear tennis shoes and prom dresses together, or at least I don't think you do. Now, if you're a guy and have the coolness to pull it off, you can wear tennis shoes with a pink tux and look great, but I don't think I've got the coolness factor for that, and I'm not a guy. So I was feeling rather touchy about this whole subject when I told my friend this morning. She said "Of course!" That helped a lot. I'm still worried about being looked at weird, but since I may have a friend sleeping over, I can't sacrifice my sleep and I don't want to sacrifice my pain levels all in the name of beauty.
I'm debating leaving Julio in the room during the dance, but can't decide. I don't know if he would feel scared during the dance. Anyone got experience with that?
Okay, I'm gonna go get something to drink or something.
Hugs!
Nickie

Think Bjork! Just kidding. I'm just trying to get you to smile. Bjork is famous for her outrageous and nutty outfits and she is à la mode, as they say here! :-)

Hi Nicki. I leave Walker home when I go places like Movies, dances, bars, etc. So I think it will be fine. He just snoozes on the couch until I get home. Just be sure to puppy proof your room.

I'm not exactly the fashion guru, but I have a feeling the dress is gonna look so pretty no one'll really pay attention to your shoes.

Hey, and if it bothers you that bad, let me know aned i'll bring some stuff and we can decorate them to look all...fancieish! lol

Seriously though, you'll look amazing...i'm so pumped about this!

Actually, if you don't have to wear a particular pair of tennis shoes, you could get a pair of plain white ones and decorate them with stuff from the craft store. I know a ton of girls who have done that for their wedding shoes, and you can actually decorate them to look really great. Put rhinestones, crystals, beads, lace, etc. Plus, you'd have fun with the project.
Good luck!

That's a good idea. I may use it in a different situation. I'm too short on cash and time now, but I will totally keep that in mind! Thanks!

Prom Dresses and Tennis Shoes
Aww Nickie, I'm sure you looked beautiful no matter what you wear. I dont' know anything about fashion, but I've heard that if you're just having a good time and being yourself, you automatically look prettyful. And that may be all talk but it's gotta have some realisticness. Haha. Anyway, I do hope you had fun!
Hugs,
Caitlin
